Hello
My work as a hypnotist, Reiki Master, and mind–body coach is deeply rooted in lived experience. I grew up with a mother who struggled with severe mental illness, and my childhood was shaped by trauma and emotional unpredictability. While challenging, those early years taught me how to sense when others are overwhelmed, distressed, or disconnected — a skill that now guides my healing work.
My Story
In 2002, while searching for ways to heal from that early trauma, I began Reiki training with my sister through Light Internal in Denver, Colorado. Reiki (a form of energy work) supports nervous system regulation, emotional awareness, and self-compassion- all essential foundations for healing trauma. I was initially skeptical of energy work, but through Reiki, I learned how to slow down, ground myself, and recognize when my system was becoming overwhelmed. Reiki continues to show me that healing isn’t about “fixing” yourself — it’s about discovering what supports your unique system. I went on to become a Reiki Master Teacher, and this philosophy still guides my work today.
However, like many people with early or complex trauma, regulating my nervous system did not automatically resolve the deeply embedded survival patterns shaped in childhood. Despite ongoing Reiki work and self-healing, unresolved trauma continued to live in my subconscious, eventually manifesting as a panic disorder. This experience taught me an important truth: supportive practices can stabilize the nervous system, but trauma often requires direct work with the mind’s protective responses.
Hypnosis became the missing piece. While training at the Eastburn Institute of Hypnosis (2008), I was simultaneously receiving hypnosis for panic and anxiety. This allowed me to experience firsthand how hypnosis works with the subconscious to gently retrain the fear response, update outdated survival beliefs, and create a sense of internal safety that talk therapy and relaxation alone hadn’t fully achieved. Over time, the panic disorder resolved — not through force or reliving trauma, but through re-patterning the nervous system at its root.
I moved to New Orleans in 2012 and immediately knew it was home. I opened my practice at the New Orleans Healing Center and continue to draw grounding and clarity from the Mississippi River and frequent levee walks — the inspiration behind Crescent City Coaching.
During the COVID quarantine, I deepened this work even further, becoming a Certified Life Coach through Transformation Academy with a specialization in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and hypnosis. This training gave me additional tools to help clients recognize patterns, shift internal narratives, and create lasting behavioral change.
This lived experience shapes how I work with clients today. I don’t view healing as linear or one-dimensional. Instead, I integrate modalities — using Reiki to support regulation and safety, hypnosis to address subconscious trauma patterns, and coaching tools to help clients move forward in a way that feels empowering and sustainable. If you’re ready to break old patterns and discover what healing looks like for you, I invite you to take the next step and schedule a session.
